TWO thugs are being hunted by police after attacking a man in the street.

The 22-year-old man was taken to Hairmyres hospital with lacerations after the attack on Hamilton's Marswood Green which happened around 11pm on April 26.

Police have now appealed for help in tracing the two suspects, both described as white and of a slim build.

The first man is thought to have been around 6ft tall, with short dark hair, wearing blue jeans and a tracksuit top.

The second man is thought to have been in his 20s, and was wearing dark clothing.

Detective Constable Ross Philip of Hamilton Police Office said:"Enquiries are continuing and I would ask any witnesses who have not yet come forward to police, or anyone with information regarding the two men responsible to contact Police Scotland on 101.

"Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."
