FIRE crews battled a blaze at a former city hospital on Sunday evening.
Four fire engines attended the scene at the old Stobhill hospital, tackling the fire which broke out around 7pm.
The blaze broke out in a derelict mortuary, which has lain empty for the past six years, according to an NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) spokeswoman.
Clouds of black smoke could be seen billowing out from the building, and around twenty fire fighters are at the scene.
A fire service spokeswoman said: "We've had quite a large quantity of calls due to the amount of smoke coming off it.
"The crews are there but it is still at an early stage.
"We have four crews in attendance."
A spokeswoman from NHSGGC said: "No staff or patients have been affected.
"The fire is in a derlict building which was a mortuary, and has been empty for the past five or six years.
"The building is nowhere near the new hospital."
Locals took to social media when they spotted smoke and flames coming from the area.
