SO domestic abuse rose by 43 per cent on the day of the Old Firm match.

Is anyone surprised?

This happens every time these two teams play and I wonder what anyone is doing about it?

The police said they were taking steps to try to tackle the issue by removing offenders from their homes.

There should be year-round tackling of this issue with education for fans as well as the police's no tolerance stance.

It feels like an issue that will never end but it must end and education is key.

WE all make mistakes.

But I have to say I was alarmed to read about the social worker who forgot his cycle bag and left confidential notes lying in the street.

You have to feel sorry for him and I imagine he's in a fair bit of trouble now.

But you also have to feel sorry for the families who had their private details left so casually lying around.

This sort of thing should never leave the security of the office.

I have been enthralled with Ruth Davidson's campaign to be the rationalising voice in the Scottish Parliament.

I couldn't believe her earnest belief that we had to spend billions to replace weapons of mass destruction to ensure Scottish jobs but if she doesn't ensure blowing up future generations she is going to kill them with kindness.

I saw her giving out lollipops - red rag to a bull as I am almost toothless because of lollipops and seaside rock as a child.

But then there was also the the picture of her sitting on the poor bull?

Yes, for a rationalising voice in politics we really need Ms Davidson.
