POLICE want to return stolen property to its rightful owners in Lanarkshire.

The items were recovered after Community Investigation Unit officers raided a house in in Balquatstone Crescent, Slamannan on Friday, April 29.

Power tools, mobile phones and other electrical equipment were among the items police have recovered.

While police have reunited many of the recovered goods with their rightful owners, a number of pieces still remain unclaimed and members of the public are urged to come forward if they believe their property is currently being held.

Police believe the property may have been taken from Airdrie and Cumbernauld.

Constable Blair Paterson, from the Community Investigation Unit in Falkirk, said: “While we are delighted to have returned some of the stolen property to its rightful owners, a large number of items remain unclaimed and unidentified and we would urge victims of acquisitive crime offences from Forth Valley to get in touch with us to see if any of the goods we seized during this activity may belong to them.

“Further inquiry by the Community Investigation Unit has established that some of the property may have been taken during crimes within Airdrie, Bathgate, Cumbernauld and the Fife region and so victims of crime in these areas should also contact us to see if we are currently holding any of their stolen items.”

A 28-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with 21 crimes including theft from vehicles, and theft and fraud following incidents in Falkirk, Slamannan, Grangemouth, Denny and Stenhousemuir.

They are due to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Tuesday, May 3.
