A THUG struck a man on the head as he was walking along a busy street in Scotstoun.

The 23-year-old was assaulted at around 5.50pm on Saturday, April 30.

He was walking along a lane between Esslemont Avenue and Queen Victoria Drive, Scotstoun when a man approached him from behind and struck him on the head.

The victim was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. He has since been released following treatment.

Detective Sergeant Raymond Sagan said: “This is a busy area and there would have been plenty of people around who may have witnessed the attack or who may have information on the suspect.

"I am urging anyone who has was in the area at the time, perhaps driving through or walking in the area to get in touch with us, you could provide us with vital information which could assist our enquiries.”

The suspect is described as white and in his 20s.

Officers are in the process of reviewing CCTV and have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries in an effort to find out further details.
