TWO thugs attacked a 60-year-old man “for no reason” in Paisley.

The victim was at the entrance of a common close in Argyle Street when he was attacked by two men at around 3.15am on Wednesday, May 4.

He suffered a head injury and was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital. He has since been released following treatment.

Police say they are in the process of reviewing CCTV footage in the area. 

Detective Constable Jamie Howarth said: “A 60 year old man has been attacked for no reason.

"We know there was a lot of shouting at the time of the incident and local residents would have heard the disturbance, perhaps you looked out your window and saw the attackers, please contact us if you have any information or knowledge about this crime.”

The first suspect is white, aged between 16 and 25 years old, and he is around 5 ft 6 ins in height. Police say he has a medium build, short blonde hair and pale skin. He was wearing a grey hooded top with black writing across the chest.

The second suspect is described as white. He was aged between 16 and 19 years old and around 5 ft 3 ins in height. He was wearing a dark coloured top.
