A POLICE investigation has been launched after the death of a 14-month-old baby girl.
The tot became ill within her home in Drumchapel's Bernisdale Drive on Sunday, April 17.
She was taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow where she later died on Wednesday, April 20.
Police say they are treating the death as suspicious and enquiries are ongoing.
The Daily Mail have named the tot as Inayah Ahmed.
The newspaper states that it was only after a post-mortem examination that police began a formal investigation into the baby's death.
Yesterday, police officers stood guard outside the property.
Today, there was a heavy police presence as officers made their way in and out the property with bags of evidence.
The family live in a six-bedroom house on the estate, and it is understood that they moved in 12 years ago when the homes were built.
It is believed that the home is owned by the Inayah grandmother and her husband. Locals have said around 11 family members lived in the property.
Two other homes in the estate are understood to be owned by the same family.
The estate lies on the boundary between Drumchapel and Clydebank, close to Great Western Road.
