TWENTY one millionaires have been crowned in Glasgow in the past two years.

According to Camelot, the G postcode area has seen 21 National Lottery millionaire winners in the past two years. It was the second most prolific area, followed by Leicester which has seen 63 millionaires – more than one a fortnight – over the same period.

The breakdown also showed Paisley and Kilmarnock postcodes have had more big lottery winners per head than any other part of Scotland.

The PA and KA postcodes came second, behind Truro, for areas with the most winners per head of population in the UK.

Camelot revealed that the luckiest location for major national lottery wins was the Essex postcode of RM.

It has had more winners of £50,000 prizes or higher than anywhere else in the country.

RM is followed by TS (Teesside) in the North East and WA (Warrington) in the North West, based on major wins per head of population since the National Lottery began.

The huge B (Birmingham) postcode remains the location of the most winners of £50,000 or more since the National Lottery began, at 1,180, and accounts for 127 of the 4,250 millionaires created so far.
