American doughnut firm Krispy Kreme has revealed it has been overwhelmed by its reception in Scotland as it plans to open a new store in Glasgow's Central station.

On Sunday, enthusiasts of the company's sweet treats flocked to social media to post their excitement about the new Glasgow store.

Judith Denby, Chief Marketing Officer at Krispy Kreme UK, said:"The reception we’ve received from our Scotland openings to date has been overwhelming and we’re looking forward to bringing the joy of Krispy Kreme to Glasgow later this summer.

"We’ll keep fans updated as and when we secure sites."

Last year the doughnut makers turned the former Clydebuilt Scottish Maritime Museum at Braehead into an outlet.

Now the company appears to be expanding its reach to travellers using Central Station.
