COMMUTERS have been warned of delays when a £3.25million improvement scheme begins on the Erskine Bridge.
The lighting and electrical refurbishment will be carried out over the next 20 weeks, starting on Monday.
Internal bridge deck lighting is to replace lamps on the south approach, while the high mast lights at the north end will also be changed to LED lamps, which is hoped to improved visibility for drivers.
The cable network will also be upgraded over the next five months.
Transport Scotland, which is funding the work, has agreed to work overnight with one lane open in each direction to help minimise disruption.
Andy Fraser, operating company representative at Scotland TranServ said: “We understand the importance of this route and its links between Glasgow and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs therefore we have done everything we can to programme the works overnight when traffic flows are lighter; therefore ensuring delays are minimal.”
