Several people are in hospital after a disturbance near Glasgow which left the area “like a war zone”.
Two vans were set alight during chaotic scenes which saw an area of Stepps sealed off by police.
Emergency services are still at the scene of the "ongoing incident" in Cardowan which was first reported at 1:30pm.
It is understood that paramedics rushed to Frankfield Road and took people to a city hospital.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “Two ambulances transported patients to Glasgow Royal Infirmary. I don’t have numbers.”
Police Scotland said officers attended and sealed off the area but a spokeswoman could not confirm what had happened, although she did insist there had been no fatalities.
“There is an ongoing incident in Frankfield Road,” she said. “Inquiries are very much at an early stage and there are no further details.”
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said they sent one engine to a blaze in Frankfield Road at 1.30pm.
“Two vans were on fire,” she added. “It was under control by 2.45pm but I have no further information.”
An eyewitness, who did not wish to be named, said he saw two vans on fire with flames “as high as a house”.
“I was washing my car and I saw high flames and smoke, then the fire brigade came.”
He added that the area was “very nice” and that nothing like this had happened before.
One passer-by posted a picture on social media of what is reportedly Frankfield Road gridlocked by emergency vehicles, adding that it was “like a war zone”.
