THE three man who were targeted by a gang of knife-wielding men in a stolen van in Stepps have been named.
Brian, Richard and Declan Grant, who are brothers, were in a parked van in Frankfield Road, Cardowan when they were assaulted by a trio of males carrying knives in what officers described as a “targeted attack”.

The brothers managed to get out of the vehicle but were chased and then attacked with bladed weapons by three men. Both vans were also deliberately set alight during the attack which happened at 1.30pm on Sunday.
The Daily Record reports that their father Richard, 67, said the attack was nothing to do with gang walfare.
He said: “This ‘gang warfare’ thing is lot of s***. My boys aren’t a gang.
“This ‘gang warfare’ thing is lot of s***. My boys aren’t a gang."

His son Richard, 45, was still in hospital yesterday where his condition was described as stable.

Brian, 47, and Declan, 28 were released after treatment.
Police believe that the attackers made off from the area in two waiting get away cars, a black 4x4 and a white saloon car.
The first suspect is described as white, 6ft tall and wearing black hooded top with the hood up.

The second man is described as white, blond hair, and wearing dark coloured trousers and a dark hooded top.
The third suspect was white, 5ft 4in, slim, wearing all dark clothing, a hooded top and dark baseball cap.
Meanwhile, police have pledged to keep sending high visibility police patrols into the “war zone” streets of the Lanarkshire suburb for as long as it takes to reassure the public.
