STADIUM kings Coldplay gave a Glasgow charity a boost after their Hampden show last night.

All four members of the band signed a guitar in aid of the Clutha Trust, founded to help young people learn how to play instruments and get involved in music.

The charity, set up in the aftermath of the helicopter tragedy in 2013, has been endorsed by a host of rock royalty including Noel Gallagher and the Stereophonics.

Coldplay's Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland and Will Champion have now become the latest stars to give the charity a thumbs up.

Billy Coyle, one of the founders of the Clutha Trust, thanked the band for their support and said: "The band knew what we do and they felt they wanted to help us, so they've signed one of the guitars.

"They said we had helped so many people, and that's why they did it for us. We're really pleased."

Last night, thousands of music fans were wowed by the Viva la Vida stars who performed a dazzling set at Hampden.

The signed guitar is one of a range given to the Clutha Trust and will be auctioned off to raise cash to support their projects.
