A prisoner from Airdrie who went on the run has been traced by police.
Thomas Proctor, 33, failed to return to Castle Huntly open prison, near Dundee, following a period of home leave.
He is now back in jail, according to a spokeswoman for Police Scotland.
She said: “Thomas Proctor has been traced and is back in custody.”
Proctor was jailed for five years in January 2014 for slashing his sister across the face with a kitchen knife at a family Hogmanay party in Airdrie. Samantha Proctor needed 72 stitches following the attack.
Thomas Proctor was found guilty of assault to severe injury and causing permanent disfigurement.
