Witnesses at the scene of a rollercoaster that plunged 30ft and left seven people injured have described their horror.

One man, whose son was due to board the M&Ds Tsunami ride on the next turn, witnessed the accident.

He said: "It was horrible. The ride just fell off, the Tsunami one where your legs dangle down. It just came Off, it fell and broke all over the ground.

Glasgow Times:

"People just rushed straight away to try to help, it was horrible."There were about 7 or 8 kids on it, my son was meant to be going on it next.

"It was just a mess. People were screaming."

Another group of pals who had been in the cafe at the time said they saw ambulances and police coming in to the park and they realised what had happened.

Morgan McConville from East Kilbride, said: "there was about ten people in the carriage, they were upside down at the time I think.

"It's a miracle if there are no fatalities.

"We saw ambulances and police coming in and everyone was told to get out. We didn't know if it was an accident or a gun or something.

"It was quite scary. You could see the panic on people's faces."

Many employees could be seen walking back through the park, having been told to go home. They said they had been told not to talk about the incident, but looked visibly shaken.
