Trainspotting star Ewan McGregor has waded into the debate on the future of embattled Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.
The actor branded the members of his party who have turned on him “turncoats” who should be ashamed of themselves and said he hopes Mr Corbyn gets the support he deserves.
@jeremycorbyn Good for you! The turncoats in your party should be ashamed of themselves. I hope you find the support you deserve.

Ewan responded to the Labour leader on Twitter after he said he needed party members, trade unionists and MPs to unite behind him.
The politician has faced a sustained challenge to his leadership in the wake of the vote to leave the EU, with members of his shadow cabinet resigning in quick succession in the days following the vote.
We need the enthusiasm & energy of all Party members to campaign for a better, more equal & more democratic societyhttps://t.co/M4Yl4zQMgd

Scottish actor Ewan has been keenly following the developments following the vote, retweeting commentary on what it means for Scotland.
Before the referendum he revealed he was voting by post and agonised over whether or not to use pen on his ballot.
Can't remember if I #usepen on my postal vote or not. Shit! Usepen McGregor.

Ewan, who is filming Trainspotting 2 at the moment, took cheer after the result in Underworld’s set at Glastonbury.
The band’s hit Born Slippy was featured in the first film.
Sitting in Edinburgh after a long week on Trainspotting 2 watching Underworld killing it at Glastonbury. Wish I could be 2 places at 1nc.
