A 24-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a pensioner in Glasgow.
John Baker, 76, collapsed following the attack at the corner of Stevenson Street, in the Bridgeton area, shortly before 12.30am on Wednesday. Passersby rushed to his aid but he later died from his injuries in Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
The man, who has not yet been named, is being detained in police custody and is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.
He is also being held in connection with the robbery of a 25-year-old woman outside Glasgow Central Station and the attempted robbery of a 53-year-old woman, who is understood to have been threatened with a knife while waiting at a bus stop in the city's Trongate area.
Both incidents took place late on Tuesday night.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
