The reunion appears to be working: Pixies are back with their second album since their 2004 reunion.
The US alternative rock band, who initially split acrimoniously in 1993, are on a creative streak and will release new album Head Carrier on September 30.

They have also debuted a new single, Um Chagga Lagga.
Head Carrier follows the band’s first reunion album, 2014′s Indie Cindy.
According to the Guardian, the band spent six weeks in pre-production, choosing 12 songs for the final album.

“This was a wonderful luxury, for us to have the time to be able to really work these new songs out,” said drummer David Lovering.
“By the time we started recording, we all knew the songs backwards and forwards, so it took half as long for us to make this album as it did to make Indie Cindy.”
This will be the first Pixies album to feature new bassist Paz Lenchantin, who came on board to replace Kim Shattuck in 2014, who replaced original Pixies member Kim Deal in 2013 (keep up!).
