TV broadcaster Tim Lovejoy has said he would like to present The X Factor.

The 48-year-old currently co-hosts Channel 4′s live morning series Sunday Brunch with chef Simon Rimmer.

He told The Sunday People: “I’d love to present something like The X Factor. I think I’d be good at a big studio show. I’d like to be there in a suit on a Saturday night with 18 million watching. The buzz of live TV is where we all get off as presenters.”

Dermot O’Leary is back filming The X Factor’s upcoming series.

Olly Murs and Caroline Flack, one-time presenters of X Factor’s sister show The Xtra Factor, attempted to step into Dermot’s shoes in 2015.

Formerly a co-host on Channel 5 motoring series Fifth Gear, Tim has ruled out taking over from Chris Evans on Top Gear, telling the newspaper: “I don’t know enough about cars.”

Tim became a household name when he co-presented Sky’s live Saturday morning football series Soccer AM with Helen Chamberlain.

The Chelsea fan left Soccer AM in 2007 after an 11-year stint and his TV credits include BT Sports Panel and How To Be England Manager. He has also enjoyed a radio career hosting music shows on XFM, which is now Radio X, Radio 5 Live and Virgin.

The divorced father-of-three further diversified his broadcasting career with Dispatches instalment, Sharing Mum And Dad in 2013.

In the documentary, he explored the psychological effect separation can have on children. Tim was married to Jade Lovejoy for four years until their 2006 split. The couple share twin daughters.

The TV presenter confirmed in May that his relationship with netball player Tamsin Greenway, the mother of his youngest daughter born in 2013, had broken down after four years.

Sunday Brunch on July 10 will be a Grand Prix special.
