THE funeral of a Ruchill man whose body was found under a canal bridge after he had been on a fishing trip with friends will take place on Friday.
Craig Allison was found dead at around 8.45am on Sunday, April 24 by a member of the public at an area known as the 'Slushie' at the River Kelvin in Maryhill.
The 22-year-old's death was being treated by police as unexplained.
Police said at the time Craig had gone fishing on the Saturday afternoon with friends before he passed.
The area he was discovered is a popular spot for fishing and the canal path is used by joggers, cyclists and dog walkers.
His funeral will take place at Glasgow Crematorium in Maryhill on Friday, July 15 at 3pm.
In a notice, his family including mum Carol, sister Amy and brothers Marc and the late Edward, said Craig "will be sadly missed".
The notice added: "All friends and family are respectfully invited."
Big-hearted Celtic star Jozo Simunovic previously paid his respects to Craig by giving his own tribute at the spot his body was found.
The 21-year-old ace tied a hoops No5 jersey to a railing at a shrine to the tragic angler.
Football fans took to social media after the image was shared to praise the actions of Croatian Simunovic who signed for the Hoops last year.
