FILMING will force the closure of Glasgow roads this week - with more scenes from T2: Trainspotting 2 expected to be shot. 

Finnieston's Stobcross Road will close on Friday, July 15 as more scenes are shot for the upcoming Danny Boyle sequel.

The road will be closed from Congressway to the Riverside Museum but access to the expressway will be maintained at all times.

Drivers are warned the road will close between 11.30pm and 3am on Saturday, July 16.

Diversions will be via A814 (Clydeside  Expressway).

Filming for the new movie has been taking place across Scotland over the last two months.

Ewan McGregor, who plays Renton, was spotted filming with director Danny Boyle at Edinburgh Airport on Tuesday while other cast members including Robert Carlyle and Jonny Lee Miller have been resurrecting their respective characters Francis Begbie and Sick Boy in scenes shot in and around Glasgow.

The cast were previously in Clydebank and Bellshill. 

The movie which is based on the Irvine Welsh novel Porno is expected to be released on January 27 next year.

Car fanatics meanwhile should look out for the filming of a new Citroen advert in the city centre on Monday, July 18.

Drivers, however, will not be able to use several city centre streets on Fair Monday.

Motorists are warned not to use the following streets between 5am and 2pm: Blythswood Street between Bothwell Street and Argyle Street; Bothwell Lane at the junction with Blythswood; West Campbell Street between Waterloo Street and Argyle Street; Wellington Street, Waterloo Street and Argyle Street; Holm Street; Cadogan Street, between Douglas Street to the east of Wellington Street. 

Wellington Lane will also be closed between 5am and 2pm, and 7pm and 11pm.

Cochrane Street will be closed between 5am and 11am.

Another block of filming will force the closure of several streets between 2.30pm and 5pm including St Vincent Street between Pitt Street and Wellington Street; Pitt Street at its junction with Bothwell Street; Douglas Street at its junction with St Vincent Lane; Blythswood Street at its junction with West George Lane and West Campbell Street at its junction with St Vincent Lane.

Somerset Place Mews and La Belle Allee will be closed between 3pm and 7pm.

Between 4pm and 9pm, the following roads will not be driveable including Park Circus, South leg in its entirety between Park Gate and Park Circus Gate; Park Street South; Park Terrace Lane at its junction with Park Street South and Park Terrace East Lane at its junction with Park Street South.

Vehicles are also not allowed to wait or load in these areas during filming and diversions will be in place.
