THOUGH the political machinations of Westminster's elite can sometimes be hard to follow, you can always trust Glaswegians to cut right to the heart of the matter.
While the rest of the world reacted to the news that Boris Johnson is now Foreign Secretary with a degree of masked incredulity and shock, the residents of Glasgow feel no need to hide their opinion.
A wall in Partick played host to colourfully phrased graffiti that minced no words when it came to spelling out what some think of the man who led the campaign to remove Britain from the EU.

While any kind of vandalism is to be condemned, the message seems to have resonated with city residents.

News of Johnson's appointment broke during a US State Department briefing. A journalist asked spokesman Mark Toner for an opinion on the new post, causing him to visibly stifle a laugh.
