TWO women have been arrested for an alleged serious assault on another woman in Clydebank.

Police raced to Burnside Court on Thursday evening at around 6.15pm to find a 46-year-old female with injuries outside the building at Scott Street.

The woman was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but later released.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "At around 6.15pm on Thursday, July 14, the police and emergency services responded to a report of a 46-year-old woman having been seriously assaulted on Burnside Court in Clydebank.

"She was taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and was released after receiving medical attention.

"Two women, age 33 and 34, have been arrested in connection with the incident.

"A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal."
