Drake is on course to take Wet Wet Wet’s crown for the second-longest consecutive number one in UK chart history.

The One Dance singer looks set to cling onto the top spot for a 15th week, equalling the reign of the Scottish band’s Love Is All Around and making him just one week away from stealing Bryan Adams’ record for current champion (Everything I Do) I Do It For You.

However, it’s a close fight for the 29-year-old Canadian: just 373 combined sales separate him from Calum Scott’s Dancing On My Own at number three, while Jonas Blue feat. JP Cooper’s Perfect Strangers is even closer at number two, according to the Official Charts Company.

The Top 5 is rounded off by Chainsmokers feat. Daya at four with Don’t Let Me Down and Clean Bandit feat. Louisa Johnson shooting back up the charts to five.

In the album charts, British soul musician Michael Kiwanuka could score his first number one this Friday with second album Love and Hate.

He has shot ahead of nearest rival Adele by 1,300 combined sales, which could see him earn a new personal best after his 2012 debut Home Again only reached number four.
