A MAN and a woman have been arrested over a number of break-ins into businesses.

Police say the 35-year-old man and 26-year-old woman were arrested on Monday for their alleged involvement in a number of recent break-ins to business premises in Kilmarnock town centre.

Chief Inspector John Cairns, Area Commander in East Ayrshire, said: "The prevention and detection of housebreaking is a priority for local officers. Police Scotland are committed to bringing offenders to justice and to working with communities and our partners to tackle their concerns.

“We will continue to actively pursue those involved in this type of crime. Our communities play a pivotal role by reporting any suspicious activity they witness, as well as ensuring they keep their homes, outbuildings and businesses appropriately secured at all times.”
