M&D's have apologised after a billboard for their new ride appeared in Hamilton with the slogan "Bring on the Fear".

The poor taste poster for the Giant Condor attraction caused outrage with those who witnessed a rollercoaster accident at the theme park just a few weeks ago.

However, bosses at the theme park say they pulled all of their planned advertising campaigns in the immediate aftermath of the Tsunami accident.

A spokesperson on behalf of M&D's said: "An error by our billboard advertising agency ClearChannel resulted in this advert appearing on a single site.

"We ordered its removal as soon as we were alerted to it and ClearChannel has assured us that its mistake will not be repeated.

"We would like to apologise for any distress caused."

Eight children and two adults were taken to hospital when the Tsunami ride derailed and crashed to the ground at a theme park in Motherwell on June 26.

Now the theme park has welcomed the opening of a new thrill ride.

The M&D’s website says: "The Giant Condor has landed at M&D’s! It’s gigantic, it’s awesome, it’s the only one of its kind in Europe.

"You can soar into the sky to over 30 metres in 28 custom built gondolas built for two!

"It’s big, it’s very scary, it’s the Giant Condor."
