A man has admitted voting twice in the European Union referendum.
Allan Hampson, of Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, committed the offence at his polling station at the town's Loanhead Primary School on June 23.
The 52-year-old admitted pretending to be his partner and voting in his name.
Last June's referendum saw Scotland vote to remain within the European Union with the United Kingdom overall opting to leave.
Hampson, a first offender, pleaded guilty to the charge at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday, July 21.
Before adjourning Hampson's case to gather social work reports, presiding Sheriff John Rafferty said: "It's clear this is an extremely serious matter.
"You have never been in trouble before but you have got to cooperate with any social work reports."
Hampson will return to the dock in August.
