A body found in a Falkirk park has been identified as missing teenager Kyle Johnstone.

The 17-year-old was reported missing after being last seen in Grangemouth at about 10am on Friday.

An officer from the dog unit discovered the body during a search of Callendar Park.

The family have now been informed and have thanked the public for their messages of support.

The death is not currently being treated as suspicious and inquiries into the circumstances of the death are ongoing, police said.

Inspector Donna Bryans said: "This is a tragic loss of a young man's life and our sincere condolences are with Kyle's family, who have respectfully requested that they be left to grieve at this very sad time.
