A MASKED knife man left staff terrified after trying to rob a bookies.
The man, who was masked with a green scarf over his face, threatened staff at Coral bookies on Old Edinburgh Road, Uddingston, on July 21 around 9pm.
He charged into the shop brandishing a knife and demanded the staff - a 20-year-old woman and 58-year-old man - hand over cash.
When they refused, he ran off in a silver getaway car which drove along Aitkenhead Road.
DC Gary Lipscombe, Wishaw CID, said: “Thankfully, neither member of staff were injured but it was very upsetting for them to experience.
“The suspect is described as about 6ft in height, of slim build, wearing a dark coloured tracksuit with a green scarf covering his face.
“Officers have spoken to those who were in the bookies at the time and are checking CCTV in the area but we need to speak to anyone who was either in the shop but left prior to police arrival or who was in the area and maybe saw the car and the suspect before or after the incident to come forward.”
Anyone with information can contact officers at Wishaw CID via 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
