THE heartbroken friends and family of a Glasgow man who died while on holiday in Ibiza have launched a fundraising drive to bring his body home.

Christopher Beattie was found dead in the Spanish island's popular party resort of San Antonio on Saturday morning after it is believed he plunged from a balcony.

The Civil Guard in Ibiza is reported to be carrying out an investigation into the incident.

The JustGiving page set up has raised around £700 to help bring the 33-year-old.

Those behind the fundraising drive hope to raise £1000.

The page says: "Christopher Beattie was involved in a tragic accident whilst on holiday in Ibiza on Friday night.

"Because of the circumstances, this page has been set up to help bring Christopher home to his family before his final journey.

"Feel free to help in anyway you can. Thank You."

His brother Paul showed support for the page by sharing it on his own Facebook.

He said: "We got the devastating news that my brother Christopher Beattie passed away whilst on holiday.

"Christopher was definitely a one off and I can't believe I will never see him again! Rest in peace Chris, mum will look after you now. love you."
