Birthday wishes have flooded in for former Ibrox legend Fernando Ricksen as he celebrates a milestone birthday today.
The Rangers hero is celebrating his 40th birthday, three years on from his Motor Neuron Disease diagnosis.
Well wishers have sent kind words and heaped praise onto the star as he continues to battle the terminal illness.
Three years ago he was given just 15 months to live but has continued to battle the disease with aims to find a cure.
The disease also claimed the life of Celtic legend Jimmy Johnstone.
Ricksen, who played almost 200 times for Rangers between 2000 and 2006, has raised more than £80,000 for the charity, MND Scotland.
In July he launched Fernando Ricksen Foundation which was set up to support the lives of those affected by MND.
