Police have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to after another man was seriously assaulted in Glasgow's South Side. 

Cops rushed to the scene outside shops at the corner of Castlemilk Road and Ashcroft Drive after the 30-year-old was found seriously injured at around 8.45pm on Thursday, June 23.  

Emergency services were contacted and the injured man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Officers are releasing CCTV images as they believe the man in the images will be able to assist them with their enquiries.

Detective Constable Peter McFarlane said: "I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or who recognises the man in the images to contact us as their information could assist with our investigation.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact CID Officers at Cathcart Police Office on 101. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and provide your information anonymously."
