A MAN and a woman have been arrested following a number of alleged thefts in Old Kilpatrick and Clydebank.

Police say the thefts occurred between May 6 and June 29.

They carried out an operation in Clydebank on Thursday which resulted in the arrests.

A 29-year-old man was arrested in connection with nine alleged thefts and a 33 year-old woman has been arrested in connection with eight alleged thefts. The man will be subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal for a further 31 alleged thefts.

A full report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.

Inspector David Quinn of the Community Policing Team at Clydebank said: “We are committed to cracking down on crime in the local community and I would urge anyone who notices any suspicious activity or who has information on crimes to contact their local office.
