MOTORISTS are being warned that the M74 junction at Daldowie will be closed this weekend.

The closure, from 8pm last night until 6am on Monday, is to allow for work to the roundabout and to create a new motorway on-slip to the M73 northbound as part of the M8, M73 and M74 motorway improvement project.

Future closures will take place on August 12 to 15 and August 26 to 29.

As a result, there will be no access to or from the motorway network via Hamilton Road (Black Bear roundabout) from Friday evening until Monday morning. This includes the closure of the M74 north and southbound off-slips, and the M73 southbound off-slip link road to Daldowie.

Road users are advised to follow the signed diversion routes and allow extra time for their journeys. Pedestrian access across the M74 overbridge will remain during the work. duration of the works
