A Glasgow teenager has been charged under the Communications Act for allegedly abusing the family of a missing man online.
The 15-year-old troll was arrested on Tuesday afternoon after a warrant was executed in the Glasgow area.
Abusive online comments were directed towards the father of missing Fife man Allan Bryant.
Police confirmed his arrest yesterday.
The 15-year-old boy has been reported to the Children's Reporter.
Allan Bryant Jr, 24, has not been seen since he left local Styx nightclub in Glenrothes, Fife, in November 2013.
His family believe foul play is to blame for their son's disappearance.
Allan Bryant Sr has launched a television campaign with STV, alongside an online appeal for any information relating to his sons's disappearance.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A teenager has been charged under the Communications Act after a warrant was executed in Glasgow this morning, August 2.
"This follows an investigation into online abuse relating to missing Fife man Allan Byrant.
In August of last year, troll Stewart McInroy, who sent sick messages claiming he had taken Allan Jr hostage and tortured and killed him, was jailed for 10 months.
