PRIMAL Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie has said he is "raring" to get back on stage and perform an intimate gig in Glasgow.

The singer is fully recovered after suffering a back injury at a European date and will take to the Kelvingrove Bandstand stage next Thursday night.

The band were forced to cancel a number of shows after the singer fell into the crowd during a set at Swiss festival Caribana on June 2.

He was instructed by doctors to rest for at least eight weeks after injuring his back while jumping on a speaker.

A band spokesman said: "Bobby is fully recovered and raring to go.

"He's been cooped up in the house for so long and can't wait to get back on stage.
