A MAN has vanished after an evening out with friends in a pub close to his home.

John McGrath, from Paisley, has not been in touch with his family since Monday, August 1.

The 62-year-old, of Neilston Road, was last seen in the Tannahills Pub, also on Neilson Road, around 6.30pm on Monday evening.

A friend is said to have seen him walking near the Lagoon Centre on Wednesday evening but, despite a police search, he has not been found.

Sergeant Shaun Steuart, Paisley Police Office, said: “Mr McGrath was with friends in a local pub not far from his house on Monday night and left at around 6.30pm.

“Today we were advised that a friend of his saw him on Wednesday around 5.30pm near to the Lagoon Centre heading towards Paisley Abbey but so far, despite a search by officers, he has not been seen or heard from since then.

“He keeps in regular contact with his family but has not been in touch since Monday.

“As well as asking the public to look out for him or to call us if they see him or know where he is, I would ask John to get in touch with either his family or police to let us know he is ok.”

Mr McGrath is described as 5ft 4in tall, of slim build, with short grey hair, blue eyes and stubble.

He was wearing a tan jacket, blue shirt, dark trousers and shoes.
