GLASGOW'S super-hospital has been given a new nickname by staff.
The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital - which is estimated to serve 41% of Scotland's population - has been christened the 'Busy Lizzie' by medics.
The £842million hospital, which is the biggest in Europe, opened in April last year and relocated services from the old Southern General, the Western Infirmary, the old Victoria Infirmary and some services from the Royal Infirmary and Gartnavel.
A new children's hospital was also opened, replacing the city's Yorkhill.
The 14-floor QEUH has previously been nicknamed the "Death Star" by locals because of its imposing 14-storey star-shaped design, topped by a landing pad for aircraft.
A spokeswoman for NHSGGC said they weren't aware of the latest nickname but said it was "preferable" to the previous one.
The adult hospital, children's hospital and laboratory buildings were constructed by Brookfield Multiplex, who previously built Wembley Stadium.
The hospital, which employes around 10,000 staff, has a fleet of robots with their own network of underground tunnels to carry supplies.
