Police are appealing for witnesses after a young man was left without the end of his nose following an attack.
A 23-year-old male had the tip of his nose bitten off during a vicious assault in East Kilbride on Friday night.
Officers were called to a residential property on the Main Street of the Village after midnight and found the seriously injured man.
It is understood there was an altercation between the victim and another man who assaulted him. He was rushed to Hairmyres Hospital where he received treatment however he will need reconstructive plastic surgery.
A 19-year-old appeared in private in connection with the assault at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.
He made no plea or declaration to a charge of assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement and was released on bail with a curfew.
The youth will appear back in court at a later date.
