Police said they will not be investigating the shock death of David Gest earlier this year, as newspaper reports suggest he died of natural causes.

The 62-year-old music producer’s death was originally treated as “unexplained” when he was found dead on April 12 in his five-star London hotel room, but Scotland Yard confirmed it is now treated as “non-suspicious”.

According to The Sun, David, who was previously married to Liza Minnelli, died of a stroke.

The newspaper reports that David’s US attorney Edward Bearman confirmed: “I’ve been told David died from a stroke.”

David became a household name in 2002 after marrying Liza in a lavish ceremony that included Michael Jackson as best man and Elizabeth Taylor as maid of honour.

He gained a following in the UK after multiple appearances on British reality TV shows including I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and Celebrity Big Brother.

The former music manager is understood to have spent half a year living at the Four Seasons Hotel in Canary Wharf and had not been seen for the two days prior to his body being found.
