MURDER cops investigating the death of a 24-year-old man believe someone in the community of Larkhall knows what happened to him.

Ryan Watson died following an incident in Wilson Street on Thursday, August 11.

He was taken to Wishaw General but later died.

Police have not revealed anymore details as to how Ryan died but they have confirmed his death is being treated as murder following a post mortem examination and further enquiries.

Detective Inspector Mark Bell, from Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team (West), said: “From the enquiries my team have conducted so far, I am confident that the answer to Ryan’s death lies within the local community of Larkhall.

“A young man's life has been taken away needlessly and the family of Ryan deserve to know the truth about what happened to him.

“Ryan had a partner and a young son who will have to continue their lives without him. His mum and dad have lost a son, his brothers and sister have lost a much loved brother.

“I’m making a direct appeal to those within the community, to search their conscience, and contact us with any information they may have because I know somebody knows who did this."

Tributes poured in on the social media website Facebook for the father-of-one.

It is understood that his partner Davina Beggs is expecting a baby in December. The couple are already parents to Lucas Roy.

She said on her Facebook page "RIP Angel" and shared images of Ryan, above, their son and a baby scan.

Other tributes poured from members of the Larkhall community.

Ellen Law said: "Another life taken too soon RIP Ryan Watson, you were a gem of a guy, you will be missed by many."

Kiera Girvan added: "Rest easy Ryan Watson another life taken far to soon! Such a lovely boy, fly high. Thoughts are with all your family"

The former Larkhall Academy pupils were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.

"Thoughts and prayers for Big John, Lesley and all the family.
"Can't get my head around all of this.
"Larkhall/Stonehouse is in total mourning this week with the devastation of all three young lives taken too soon.
"Thoughts go out to each and everyone effected."
