TWO men have been arrested after they allegedly threw a firework at a pedestrian in Glasgow city centre.

The incident happened on Monday at around 3.10pm in St Vincent Street, near to its junction with Hope Street.

Police say the men were travelling in a car when they allegedly threw the firework at the pedestrian.

Police confirmed no one was injured and there was no other damage.

It is understood CCTV footage help capture those responsible for the alleged incident. 

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police were called around 3.10pm on Monday, August 22 after what appeared to be a firework was thrown from a car in St Vincent Street, near to its junction with Hope Street in Glasgow.  No one was injured and nothing was damaged.

"Two men, aged 18 and 22, have been arrested and detained in connection with the incident."

They are expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
