A TEENAGER ended up in hospital after he was attacked by a dog outside a popular supermarket in Clydebank.
It is understood that the 14-year-old boy approached the bullmastiff, which was tied up, outside Tesco in the town and he was bitten on the hand.
The youngster tried to get away from the dog but it bit him again and latched onto his hand.
When the boy eventually broke free the dog continued to bark.
He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment to bite wounds.
Police Scotland confirmed they are still trying to trace the dog and its owner, who made off from the scene after the incident on August 12.
The incident was reported to them on August 16.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
