DANGEROUS yobs hurled stones at a Glasgow bus during rush-hour on one of the city's busiest road.

The group of youths stood over the footbridge on the M8 near to Townhead on Monday, August 22 at around 5.30pm and threw the stones at the First Glasgow X11 service.

No one was injured during the incident after the quick-thinking bus driver pulled over the bus to check his passengers. 

First Glasgow has condemned the attack which resulted in around £400 worth of damage and have urged anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact police. 

The travel firm say the upper windscreen, destination pane and a side window smashed.

A First Glasgow spokesperson said: “These actions were extremely dangerous and we condemn any vandalism or other behaviour which puts the safety of our passengers and staff at risk.

“We urge anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the police.”

A Police Scotland spokeswoman added: "Around 5.30pm on Monday, August 22, 2016, police received a report of a First Bus having been damaged after a group of youths threw stones from a footbridge onto the M8 near Townhead.

"Enquiries are continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101."
