POLICE are probing the theft of drugs from a pharmacy which they say are "very dangerous".

A delivery of prescription drugs was being made to Auchinairn Pharmacy in Auchinairn Road, Bishopbriggs at around 5.30pm on Monday, August 22.

It’s believed a number of oxynorm capsules (Oxycodon) may have fallen to the ground during the delivery which were then stolen.

Constable Karen Deans from Kirkintilloch Police Office said: “The drugs stolen, if taken incorrectly or without medical supervision could be very dangerous, or even prove fatal.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish more details on this theft and I would appeal to anyone with information on the whereabouts of the medication, or regarding this incident to contact Police through 101.

"Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
