A CYCLIST was rushed to hospital after he was knocked down in Springburn.

The 36-year-old suffered serious injuries after he was hit and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. 

The 21-year-old driver in the car was not injured.

The incident happened at 12.30pm near Stobhill Hospital at Stobhill Road and Balgrayhill Road Springburn.

The area was closed off for some time with cops diverting traffic.

Police say enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information can call 101.
