A MAN was stabbed in Toryglen following an argument at a block of flats in a residential street in the early hours of the morning.

The 32-year-old was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital following the incident which happened in Corlaich Avenue at around 1.35am on Saturday, August 27.

He remains in hospital where his condition has been described as stable.

One local man, who did not one to be named, said: "I heard shouting in the early hours of the morning.

"I never thought anything of it until I went outside the next day and saw the police everywhere.

"I heard someone had been stabbed."

Dozens of cops could be seen combing the area outside a block of flats on the street on Saturday afternoon.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "It was about 1.35am on Saturday, August 27, police and emergency services responded to reports of a 32-year-old man having been seriously injured during an altercation  in Corlaich Avenue.

"He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he remains after receiving treatment.

"Medical staff describe his condition as stable.

"Officers are following a positive line of enquiry."
