A public meeting in Glasgow will be held to discuss plans to scrap the Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications Act.
Glasgow MSP James Kelly is inviting people across the city to attend the meeting which will take place in Barmulloch Community Centre at 7pm on Friday, September 2.
Kelly has lodged proposals in the Scottish Parliament to scrap the act, which he claims has eroded trust between fans and the police, and wants to hear what Glaswegians have to say on the plans to repeal.
An online consultation has also been lodged, which will run until October 23.
He said: “In addition to the online consultation I am keen to hear the public’s views on the proposals to scrap the Football Act.
"This public meeting is a crucial stage in the process to repeal the Act and I would encourage anyone with an interest in seeing this illiberal law scrapped to come along on Friday evening.
"This legislation was rushed through parliament by the SNP government and has eroded trust between police and fans.
"The Football Act is quite simply unworkable and I hope by working with fans, charities and individuals we can see it gone for good.”
