The Ibdaa Cultural Centre in Bethlehem’s Al-Duheisha refugee camp reportedly organised an event on Monday in support of Celtic after the club was charged by UEFA over a flag display during a match with an Israeli team.
It is understood hundreds of children attended the event in support of the club, with many donating their pocket money to help pay the UEFA fine.
A number of Celtic fans displayed Palestinian flags during the 5-2 home Champions League victory against Hapoel Be'er Sheva prompting the European governing body to launch disciplinary proceedings.
After being fined for the action, Celtic supporters launched the hastag #MatchTheFineForPalestine to raise money for two charities that support Palestinians - Medical Aid Palestine (MAP), a UK-based organisation that "delivers health and medical care to those worst affected by conflict, occupation and displacement", and the Lajee Centre, a cultural and sports project for children in the Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem.
The campaign has so far raised £165,000 for Palestine.
