A man is to stand trial charged with the murder of a dad-of-eight in his own home.
John McKay is accused of killing William Scott, 43, in Chapelhall, North Lanarkshire in April.
The charge includes claims McKay repeatedly struck him with a knife or similar item. It is also alleged he did “inflict blunt force trauma” by “means unknown”.
The 45 year-old pled not guilty during a short hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.
Judge Lord Boyd set a trial due to take place next March.
